Which channel is Kraken vs. Golden Knights on immediately? Time to get TV listings for NHL again to ESPN

Welcome to the NHL, Seattle!

The newest team in the NHL, the Kraken, will take on the Golden Knights on opening night in Las Vegas. Before it starts in the T-Mobile Arena, the Lightning in Florida takes on the penguins. The Games mark ESPN’s return as the league’s broadcaster.

What to expect from the Kraken in 2021-22 is unclear. Will they be like expansion teams who fought mightily against the more established clubs? Or will they be more like their first opponent, the Golden Knights, who reached the Stanley Cup Finals in their founding year? Time will tell, but the team has already taken some big steps, including signing free agents Jaden Schwartz and Philipp Grubauer and appointing Mark Giordano as the franchise’s first captain.

In the preliminary program on the opening day, the defending champions will compete against a Penguins crew who will probably miss Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby. The Penguins captain had wrist surgery in September and while he skated over the weekend, his return is not yet planned.
